Following the United States Supreme Court decision, the New Jersey State Police (NJSP) was mandated under state law, title 53:2-9b(1), to replace the Waterfront Commission of New York & New Jersey as the regulator of the shipping workforce at the Port of New Jersey.
The NJSP Port Security Section is now a multi-faceted component of the Division overseeing operations and activity impacting the Port of New Jersey, the second busiest Port in the United States.
The Port Security Section is comprised of the following Bureaus:
